, an artist and writer, received her education at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago
in the late 80's. In 2004, Cindy went to Haiti as a volunteer with a Healing Hands for Haiti
rehabilitation team. During this trip, the team visited several orphanages where disabled children were living in appalling conditions. From this experience, Cindy was compelled to do something for disadvantaged children. From her experience as an artist, Cindy decided to create The Mural Movement
. Currently, she lives in Connecticut with her husband and her son where she teaches writing and manages The Mural Movement
, an interdisciplinary artist, studied at OCAD University
from 2003-07. While researching environmentally friendly paint (milk paint) for a class assignment in 2006, jenna discovered a website that spoke about Cindy's work. Inspired, she contacted Cindy and shortly after was on her way to Haiti with The Mural Movement
. This experience forever changed jenna's artistic practice. Since her first mural, she has led several projects in North and West Africa. jenna is the Canadian Division Adviser for The Mural Movement
and is preparing for a project in Northern Ghana.
